Dr. Adam Pleister is a clinical and research associate at the Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all sleep disorders, including obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome (RLS), insomnia, and parasomnias. His medical training makes him keenly aware of the vital connection between sleep health and heart health. Dr. Pleister is uniquely positioned to understand and manage patients with sleep disordered breathing and cardiac risk factors and cardiac conditions, including heart failure, cardiac arrhythmias, coronary heart disease, systemic hypertension, pulmonary hypertension, and dyslipidemias.
He takes pride in developing meaningful relationships with each of his patients and their families to provide optimal care. He considers the close bond established with his patients as being the best part of his work. Approachable and friendly, he is always available to his patients or their referring/primary care providers to discuss diagnostic or management questions.
A prolific researcher, Dr. Pleister has published numerous articles in peer reviewed scientific journals on sleep apnea, heart failure and cardiovascular disease. He is the author of book chapters on Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy in Heart Failure as well as Heart Failure in Women. Dr. Pleister was previously an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University where he completed his sleep medicine, cardiovascular medicine and internal medicine fellowships.
Dr. Pleister’s strong medical and research backgrounds are an asset to our patients and to the Central Ohio community. He looks forward to contributing to OSMI’s well-established tradition of thoughtful, thorough patient care and in taking part in our research programs.
