Shikha Mistry, MD is a sleep medicine physician at the Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute. She is board certified in family medicine. While a resident in family medicine, she realized the profound impact that sleep has on overall health and well-being. She decided to fully dedicate herself to improving patients' lives by addressing their sleep issues. She provides compassionate, evidence-based sleep medicine care to patients of all ages. She particularly enjoys treating hypersomnias and circadian rhythm disorders although all parts of sleep medicine interest her. She also takes a keen interest in working with children and families struggling to get their loved one to sleep. She approaches sleep issues from a holistic perspective under the premise that sleep interacts with many aspects of health. She is a dedicated practician who strives to build strong, trusting relationships with her patients based on open communication, active listening, and collaboration. Consequently, she values collaborative care and open communication with referring providers to not only offer the best possible care, but most importantly, improve her patients’ quality of life.
Dr. Mistry completed her sleep medicine fellowship at the Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center under the direction of Kingman Strohl, MD, an internationally recognized expert in sleep medicine and respiratory control. She is a reviewer for the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine and recently published an article in Sleep on Sleep Disorders in Children and Adolescents with Long COVID. She grew up in Strongsville, Ohio, completed her undergraduate at the University of Toledo and her medical degree at the International American University. She was the chief resident physician at Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center in Maumee, OH during her family medicine residency. She is a current member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Mistry enjoys spending quality time with her family, going on walks with her labrador retriever and traveling. Her warm and easy to get along personality are an asset for our healthcare community and Central Ohioans patients at large. We are delighted to welcome her as part of our team.
